Hi Pratik - the chemos drug costs varies from the range 10,000/- to 75,000/- it would be better if you ask your doctor which drug he will give - then the cost can be asked
The doctors initially said that there are 2 type of drugs used in Chemo. 1 : Which are manufactured by the original maker which are expensive and 2. The indigenous ones which are made in India similar to the formula of the original manufacturer. He also said that the 1st one is much more expensive than the 2nd one. Moreover, he added that the 1st one is more effective, I just wanted to know the efficacy of what the doctors are saying is really the fact or they are just saying to enhance the revenue of the hospital.
Thanks will do so and get back

Hi Pratik,
Welcome to the forum, and feel free to ask anything you wish. You will get all the support here.
As for your question, you father will need chemotherapy. The drugs to be given and the dosage of the same, will be best decided by your oncologist. I suggest you, that you talk it out with your oncologist. And after that, we can guide you, if you meed help, in terms of procuring those drugs, or understanding the side effects and all.

Hi, my father has gone through his first chemo cycle on 24th Feb. At the time of first session of chemo, he was having bit of cold and cough. Now, the cold and cough had intensified and he is coughing heavily. His 2nd chemo is due on 19th March. He has been given cough syrup by the doctors and has been asked to take steam thrice daily. Is it possible that my father's persistent cough may have any adverse effect in his chemotherapy treatment and can this lead to delay / deferment of his chemo cycles ?

Persistent cough might delay chemo a little. So I would suggest, you visit your oncologist and see, if a chest X ray needs to be done. If the x ray is normal, then it's nothing to worry about. If there is some minor infection, antibiotics may be of help. Let your oncologist decide.
