It is heard there are different machines & we are suggested to look for LINAC. Pl anybody inform the procedure is it painful? How many days it is to be taken

LINAC (Linear Accelerator) offers the best radiation. There are newer machines as well.

Radiation is not painful. Occasionally, it may cause peeling of skin, which might be painful. But apart from that, the procedure does not cause any pain.

It is usually to be given for 6 to 7 weeks (Mon to Fri, 5 days a week). For those who have undergone a BCS, they give a boost to the lumpectomy site.
