Hi all, hope everyone doing as well as can be in given climate.
This morning my GP rang me, wouldn't usually give result over phone but under these current circumstances....so I had bone scan Wednesday and it does show 'hot spots' on my rib in back where I'd had on/off discomfort and apparently in my left femur, so that's same side as back pain. Apparently not conclusive as arthritis can show up as hot spots too so I'm keeping calm. Breast care team will now be in contact to arrange further investigation.
Anyone had this happen to them or know of someone who has? I need some words of comfort right now xx
Hi sweetheart thank you for all your posts. Thank you for sharing all that has happened since your treatment ended. The journey still goes on......
Sorry I can’t give you a valid reply to this but know that you are not alone as you got HRP this, I have no doubt I am not the only one who is grateful to you for your continued presence on here and that we all wish you well and keep us updated please. Sending lots of love and hugs from Debster xxx
I had a bone scan last December to see if breast cancer had spread. Like you, I have hot spots on my spine which I’ve been told are probably age related arthritis (I’m 70). An area on top of femur is indeterminable so I had an MRI in January.....area still indeterminable. I’ve to have another MRI in April ....the results will be compared to first MRI. Meanwhile, I’m getting on with life and trying my best to avoid the virus.
My very best wishes to you. I hope this has helped.
Was the MRI the next thing they did following the bone scan results? Any bloods done? I dont actually know what is going to happen from here, only that I have an appointment next week back at my breast clinic. I'm really hoping it's just bone degeneration due to being on tamoxifen for over 4 years now and a full hysterectomy nearly 2 years ago so lack of oestrogen.
Take care, I will keep updating when I know more. X
I’m on letrozole so lack of oestrogen doesn’t help with aches and pains. MRI (only on hip followed bone results.) no bloods done. Letrozole has kept cancer away but because of it I’ve now got osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation so now on more tablets .....but I’m getting on with life and look fit for my age. Our rescue whippets are helping cos not only do they need a cuddle.....they love walking. We are lucky (so far) to still be able to walk them as we live in isolated area in SW Scotland.
I had Breast cancer in 2018 with Mastectomy and Chemo but they said that I didn't need Radiotherapy. I have had a bad back / pain down my leg for 5 months. Had Blood tests, Bone Xray and Dexoscan in December and told no issues. Pain continued so had physio and as it wasn't improving was sent for an MRI last Saturday.
Call from GP yesterday (couldn't call me in because of Coronavirus) who said they forund things on MRI which Physio could not deal with. Now being sent for "urgent" CT and told to contact my breast care nurse if heard nothing in 7 days. Very worrying.
I’ve just caught up with your latest posts and see you have an appointment next week . Yes being on Letrizole Tamoxifen etc does have downsides of the side effects which cause aches pains and worrying symptoms , particularly in bones and muscles I’ve found. Going through scans and follow ups is a big upheaval to peace of mind . However the benefits of. Reducing oestrogen greatly outweigh these I’ve found so far . Wishing you the very best for your upcoming appointment ; take care !
