Herceptin: Morning I am trying to find... - My Breast Cancer ...
Herceptin
Sorry to hear this. You don’t mention what the pain is exactly but if the GP and Onc are not sure it would probably only be a wild guess for any of us unless we had the complete same symptoms. Typical side effects of hormone therapy are on the leaflet in the box.
That said some years back when I was on tamoxifen I had pains not on the box which were never diagnosed so If you want to share the pain you are getting privately with me via pm feel free. Hormone therapy builds cumulatively in the system to therapeutic effect so will take some time to clear the system. Three weeks may not be enough if it is that which is causing it.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Galgo, did you have rounds of chemo prior to the Herceptin? The chemo can cause long lasting pain (it did with me) and also the hormone tablets can do the same. I reacted to the hormone treatment so stopped early on I didn't have any side effects from Herceptin so I'd guess it's one of the others. I'm 5yrs on from my last chemo and drug free. I'm just about getting back to normal (if there is such a thing after cancer) but I still have tingling pain at night in my legs. I just accept that now and get on with it...Hopefully your oncologist can shed some more light on this for you depending on the type of pain your experiencing.
Hi Yes had 15 rounds of chemo 18 rounds of radiotherapy and stopped the hormone tablets just to much pain in my legs.I have asked my chemo staff and they think its the Herceptin but then again my oncologist says no so Im confused its 4months since my last treatment ,
I don’t think the Herceptin causes me pain. I’m on it for the second time now. You have had a lot of chemo tho and I do know a lady whose neuropathy appeared after the chemo was over and is quite debilitating. You could ask for a second opinion, your GP should be able to arrange this.
I get some joint pain with the Letrazole and also previously had it with Tamoxifen. I’ve been advised to do regular brisk walking or get out of breath type exercise. I used to do a lot of yoga and it’s obviously time to start again as I feel the stretching would help. The hormone pills seem to make any existing ache or pain magnify for me and I’m feeling the difficulties of working in an office sitting job more and more as I age ( and of course I think the treatment ages me faster and I’ve had so much of it over the last 15 years...grrr!).
