I’m having a lumpectomy next week the nurse advised me to wear a tight bra, what is the best post op bra and how low a cup size should I buy? Any advice please

What bar
Hi Tricia, I had my lumpectomies in 2013, so things may have changed since then but I'm sure I just carried on with the bra I was wearing at the time, good luck with the surgery x
Hahaha just giggled as I wrote what bar and not what bra...... wish I was going to a bar 😂
Hi I had mine in 2017 and I was advised a sports bra truthfully after surgery it took about 4 attempts to find one I was comfortable with. Good luck
I think the one I found comfortable was an older version of this uk.triumph.com/sports-bra-n...
I now wear a sports bra, which I think was advised to do after developing lymphoedema in both breasts, I'm quite big (36ff,) and I'm wearing a Shock Absorber available from John Lewis or Debenhans
I got those with opening at the front, recently saw sport bras like that as well (that had zippers). Makes a huge difference if you don’t have anyone to help you get dressed...
Hi
Had problems and spent over £200 trying to get one that fitted and was comfortable I ended up with a £7 from Tesco they are white pink and black their no wire range in their D TO G range my only complaint is they are nylon so I have loads so in the wash frequently ROYCE make cotton ones that but are about £28 a go! I was told by a bra fitter at my hospital that it was very supportive and I had got the right fit Just buy a few different ones and try them on at home rather than in the shop I wear these most of the time but am now able to wear my post op wired bras comfortably for a day
John Lewis sell Royce there is also Amoena bras which was who the fitter at the hospital I attended came from - good luck

Good Morning just seen this so sorry for late reply ..I went to Marks and Spencer ...they have surgery bras that are nice and soft ...i asked a member of staff and she was very helpful ...they are pretty and last ages and you also don't pay tax so get a slight reduction in price ....I also folded a new pair of white ankle socks to add extra cushioning when a bit sore ...but I was walking around London 2 weeks after surgery,, Good Luck and lots of hugs to you x
I found that those all in one stretchy bras like they advertise on telly (JML?) were very comfy. I also found that they were easy to pull over any dressings. No hooks, wires or anything to dig in.
I got the stretchy ones which were recommended by breast nurse.good luck
