Post mastectomy pain 6 years on

I had left breast mastectomy and reconstruction with implant 6 years ago. Recently have been getting intermittent stabbing pain behind the implant and some tenderness on edge of implant - Gp has referred me back to see a consultant but am wondering if any one else experiences any pain / tenderness this far down the line ?

Gosh, it could be anything - capsular contracture, pocket scarring, intercostal muscle strain, osteopaenia - in the rib especially if you had radiation... I am hoping to have reconstruction in a year, so I havn't experienced this, main thing - don't worry, get the info from the consultant

I think this is a matter for the consultants Ellee. They need to properly investigate as it could be anything. 6 years down the line is great progress so one important thing is - DON'T WORRY!!! x

As the other people have said see your consultant as it needs investigation but it could be something as simple as ageing 😃

I had same in right breast had my implant put in in nov 2017 ive had the same pains ever since consultant said its just one of tbose things ! Mum had same but no reconstruction 5 yrs ago and has same pains x

I had the reconstruction with the muscle from my back. I had it march 2016 and still get bad pains.
