Port flush?

I just moved to Surrey from America. I need my port flushed and my GP doesn't know where I should go for this. Any suggestions?

It's been some time since I had to have this done but it was always at the hospital where I received chemo. I'm actually taken aback that the GP hasn't offered to make enquiries for you. Assuming you still may need treatment in the future, and that is why you still have the port, contact your local hospital, ask for the Breast Clinic and explain your problem 🙂xBeryl

Dear me, that's not very good of your GP. I would ring your nearest hospital and ask to be connected to the oncology day clinic. Speak to a nurse on duty and explain to her your situation. I am sure they will be able to help you. Has your previous oncology team not written to a new team there to continue your treatment and care? Good luck with it all.

If same as picc line flush...its the district nurse IV, planned treatments.

They house visit when you dont feel well and work from closer hospitals in small teams. Was given telephone number to connect with them from chemo nurse who inserted picc line.

Call your local hospital, speak to the breast unit they should be able to help, if no unit there explain you need it flushed to reception and hopefully they’ll lyk where you need to go..

I am on sussex surrey boarder...east grinstead. Breast care excellence for district Worthing so operation, chemo, and team there...travelled there.

First contact Dnurse team office was haywards heath. Nearest team in hospital was Crawley, that team had office in Horsham they interconnect. The visiting nurses came from Haywards Heath, mine travelled from Brighton. Bloods were processed at East Surrey Redhill from Crawley. A diverse scattered team, no wonder GP has been no help. Chat with chemo team...it falls in place. I went through a fuzzy time not knowing what to do, even visited local hospital trying to find solution and GP surgery with no luck. I was impatient...it just fell into place at the right time...and a great team of nurses they were.
