Hello ladies. When I have radiotherapy can I still wear a bra? I'm one breasted 😳 and not small, will be a bit difficult going without.......still, not the worst thing to have happened recently 🤣.

Sending ❤️

Hi Deb, i struggled with my radiotherapy as i had total node clearance in my right arm and by the end of the first week couldn't lift it above shoulder height, and as the radiologists had to help me get dressed afterwards (i couldn't put my sweatshirt in due to restricted movement in right arm) i didn't bother with my bra......

Hi Deb, yes I'm fine now, I had my radio in January 2014, two visits to physio dept when it finished and i gradually got full movement back, good luck with your radio x

Hi it is entirely up to you and how you feel and manage. I did but I had good range of movement and getting a bra on and off wasn't a struggle so at the end of the day it is personal choice.

Good luck xx

Yes it will definitely depend how the radiation affects you. If you have good movement and are not sore, you just need to try it. The radiologists will help you if necessary. If it is uncomfortable, just keep trying.

Please don't forget to cream the area very well to try and avoid being sore

Good luck xx

I wore front fastener with pockets for silicone form (not sure what they called) a false booby !! I had a variety for my various stages ! I had reconstruction but still wear a small one to match up. I was told never to wear underwired bra now and wear them crop tops now ! Good luck

I started with proper bras but then changed to the soft crop top type ones. They were called Genie. I now wear those or sports bras as I have difficulty reaching up to do a normal bra up. I had 6 or 13 nodes removed then got a frozen shoulder the other side. But we over come!

Hi Angelmummi yes I remember reading about these now, and I looked them up online so thank you for reminding me. Indeed we find a way!

Hi, I wore bras most days, some days I wore long scarfs if I could not be bothered with all the putting on and taking off. Religiously did the exercises and managed ok. Good luck with it all
