my life at the minute: 1 got breast... - My Breast Cancer ...
my life at the minute
Is it malignant melanoma you have? Are there any surgical options?
I'm very sorry to hear that it's back. Obviously the chemo can't get rid of it. It's incurable. But it can stop it spreading. That's crucial. Hopefully they will scan you regularly to check that it hasn't reach any internal organs or your bones.
Good luck x
Hi Irene, Don't lose hope. Why don't you ask for a second opinion maybe at a different hospital or privately. One never knows. Sometimes a specialist might interpret some results wrongly.
What kind of cancer did you have and what treatment did you have to have? Also, try to find out if in another country they offer a treatment different than here? Remember the young boy who was successfully treated in Prague (I think)?
Good luck in your fight! Do you have support around you?
ive had second opinion its secondary maligment breast cancer 5 yr ago I had operation chemo and radiotherapy this time I can only have chemo yo try and control it spreading ive now had 7 different types of chemo lost hair twice there are no chance of operationjs as its in the skin docs say it would spread even quicker to internal organs I do have a great family around me buts its hard when a 3 yr old asks questions that you don't want to answer thankyou all for replying to me its nice to know strangers do read these stories and get back to you
Hi Irene. I have secondary cancer from breast in my liver. I have been offered a drugs trial. Have you asked about any trials going on for your type of cancer? Best wishes and don't give up xxxxxx
Liz.
Hi Irene I am sorry that the cancer has come back and wish you strength in dealing with it. I have breast cancer which is also in my skin - but luckily is responding to chemotherapy - so far anyway.
Sending you waves of good wishes and love... Bernxx
Hi I'm curious as I'm tnbc, how does this differ from malignant melanoma. With that they respect large amounts of tissue to arrest the spread. Is this not an option? How did it present? I grew up in Australia so I'm conscious of my melanoma risks. Just wanted to learn more. I'm very sorry for your situation. X
6 yr ago I just had a small mass in the breast which they cut out however some was left in which develop to a tumor in the breast which is spreading through body lymphnodes and presenting as red/purple blotchy rash across both breasts ,chest and now spreading around to my back mine to is triple negative bc
That's awful. I hate that you're going through this but I'm thrilled your chemo is working. Thank you for your help. X
Hi. I have secondary bc it came back after 7 years in my sternum. To be told it's now stage 4 and incurable was a huge thing to deal with. I had some counselling at the hospital for a while! It really helped me deal with the emotional side including family issues. Now however I'm 2 years down the line and feeling well.
My cancer is stable and with regular scans this is very reassuring. I hope you reach a point where you can live your life as though it's just like any other manageable illness.
Don't get me wrong I still have my wobble days but they get further away all the time.
Stay positive 👍
thankyou for your response I'm having councilling now but I still feel like my lifes in limbo and I don't know what tomorrow will bring ive been told mines stage 4 incurable to
Dear all, we all fear the cancer moving to another part of our body as secondary breast cancer and it can happen soon (as for Irene1959) or later (as Anniejac and Bern) or much later as two women I know have secondary cancer, one in lungs, one in bones, over 20 years after original surgery.
All we can do all the time is to live the best life we can and love the people we care about, cos we never know what is round the corner.
Love to all
Sorry to hear your news Irene and I do hope they can find a chemo that works to control it for you. Sending big hugs xx
