Hi, I was diagnosed for the second time with Breast Cancer in June 2016, I had previously had this seventeen years ago. I have had a mastectomy and six sessions of chemo which finished the middle of January. I am due to start back at work next week on phased return but am struggling as feel so low and have lost so much confidence, is this normal?

Hi, I too have been diagnosed twice and felt my confidence had a knock each time. It does get better though. Just take it a step at a time. Its great that you have a phased return and you will need that. Don't try to be too helpful and do too much in the first few weeks. It is really difficult not to, but your body needs to get used to the work routine. Don't use up all your energy at work, keep some in reserve for you too. Good luck!
You are normal but take my advise don't rush back to soon to work, I did and regret it, take it easy and relax and look after number one You!
Yes it is , ...why wouldn't you, ....really feel for you, sorry to here it's back a 2nd time... I remember going back 10 months after chemo and radio, I had to get the bus and train, I felt like a fish out of water, short hair, and still in shock what I'd just been through....but I'm glad I did...think it helped a bit to start to feel a bit normal again, and to see the world going on, I was also lucky to have a small work group that made me feel I'd never been away ..little steps at a time, ......how did it go...x
