Testing positive and bleeding after an abortion

I had an abortion on the 24th June which is now over a month ago, I’m still bleeding and I’m still testing positive on my pregnancy tests, is this normal? As id thought my hcg levels would have disappeared by now?

How far you were in your gestation when you had the abortion? Was it a medicine induced or needed DnC? I think since you posted it here it wasn't DnC as that goes with full clinical survillance. Well it's dicey TBH... while it's sometimes okay to bleed for a week to 10 days if your pregnancy was well past the 6 week timeline. You can have safe medicine induced abortion till 12 weeks but then the further down the gestation the bleeding is more. Naturally, the progesterone will also be high enough to go on positive for a while. Did you tests got any fainter or it's the same intensity? Well there's really a need to visit clinic if the intensity is not fading. Sometimes when it's just medicine induced abortion the part of mifepreston is not complete and therefore the tissues cannot be fully expelled. That's when you bleed continuously and more than what would otherwise indicate small amount of blood or spotting.
