Paediatric doctor for my baby

I am 35 weeks pregnant and wanted some advice. When should I search for a paediatric doctor for my baby? Right after birth or before that? Or will the hospital advice me about this? Or maybe the midwife?

I believe everyone will probably have different experiences with this! This is what I experienced....I had a complicated delivery so a paediatric doctor delivered my daughter and gave her the once over as soon as she was out before I got a cuddle. We were then seen by a paediatric doctor the next day for the standard baby checks that they complete in the red book (U.K. Based) before discharge from the hospital (although mine was rushed to neonatal and then we saw lots of doctors!!). your midwife will definitely be able to advise you.
