Missed patch by 24 hrs

Hi there, I'm on the contraceptive patch rather then changing it 12 am Sunday night Monday morning as I usually do so Monday is my new patch day, but I forgot and changed it 12am Monday night. Does this mean I have a new patch change day? or can I still keep it Monday rather that Tuesday? (But as I was only about 24 hrs out I'm not sure)

Hi, may be worth asking your doctors or whoever prescribed them to you. Does it say on the instructions at all? Just it says what to do if you miss the pill. I would just keep it on until Tuesday but use extra contraception for a week or so x

Hi it does say if you put the patch on late then put it on as soon as you remember and that's your new change day, but that's notmally from what I can tell if it's over 24hrs. Luckily I'm not currently sexually active and on the nhs it did say I should still be covered x

Ah you should be OK then. I wouldn't worry too much. I used to always forget my pill when I was on them. I got the contraception injection at one point but wasn't good on that at all x

Hi There,

It depends which week you were on? But as you were less than 48 hours late your patch change day remains the Monday and you won't need emergency contraception. Once is a patch is over 48hrs late that things change. If you are ever late re-starting that's when things would change too. It sounds like you are back on track.
