Please help me!

I'm 17 and me and my boyfriend decided to have sex but as he started to put it in it hurt to much so we stopped but I'm not on the pill and we didn't have protection, but I'm going on the pill in 1 week? I don't want to be pregnant? Someone please help me

I understand you must be very anxious but try not to panic if possible. When did you have sex? If you had sex within the 5 days, you could use a method of emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy. There are two types of emergency contraceptive pill. Levonelle works within 72 hours after sex, although is more effective the sooner it is taken. You can buy this from pharmacies or get it for free from GPs or family planning clinics. EllaOne works up to 5 days after having sex, but you will need to get this from your GPs or family planning clinic as you need a prescription. You could also have a copper coil fitted which works up to 5 days after having sex and provides lasting contraceptive cover but you would need to get this fitted at your GPs or a family planning clinic. Given that it's the weekend, if you had sex within the last couple of days the best thing to do might be to go to your nearest pharmacy and buy Levonelle, often called the morning after pill. Some pharmacies can provide it for free depending on your age and where you live, so ask when you get there just in case.

In terms of the pain, it might be worth speaking to someone about this, either your GP or someone at a family planning clinic. There is probably nothing to worry about, but it might be good to discuss this with someone.
