can I get pregnant?

Hi. My first day of my last period was on 18 October and I also had unprotected sex with my husband during my period. My menstrual cycle is 24 days every month and quite regular. Now I already missed my period about 4 days. Is it possible for me to get pregnant?

Hi Ilena,

Yes, while it is unlikely that you could conceive while you are on your period, it isn't completely impossible. As your period is late, you should take a pregnancy test. If this is negative but your period hasn't arrived after another few days, you should retest. If this is negative but your period is still late it might be best if you went to speak to you GP as they can go over your dates with you and check if there is anything else which might be affecting your cycle.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Katherine
