Hi. I've been on anti depressants for 4 years which stopped my periods completely. I've recently come off them which Dr recommended and I've had 2 periods since sept. (Yay) me and my boyfriend are trying for a baby and I just get scared that the antidepressants have made me infertile. My gp did a hormone test which came back better than normal so does that mean I'm still fertile? I'm sorry for all the questions and my last period finished on 6th Nov and we've had unprotected sex on the 8th, today and we plan on having unprotected sex on sat. Do you think I'll get pregnant soon as I'm so broody it hurts. Sorry for the long post but thank you x

Confused and broody
Hi Mi-Lou,
I understand you must be anxious, but as you are having periods and your blood tests came back absolutely fine, there is absolutely no reason to believe you are infertile.
It can sometimes take a little bit longer than we would like to conceive, but generally the vast majority of couples will conceive within a year of trying if having regular unprotected sex. There is more information on the NHS website about conceiving and how you can improve your chances, such as the timing of sex, here:
nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy...
Also, as you are trying to fall pregnant it is important to start taking folic acid now. This is important for the healthy development of your baby in the very early stages and it's is of most benefit if you start taking it before you do conceive.
I hope this helps. I'm sorry you are feeling so stressed about this, but do try to relax if possible. And please let me know if you have any other concerns we could help with.
Best wishes,
Katherine
If the doctor says that you are fertile then you are fertile. Please, do not over think this and get over stressed, like i always do. Instead, believe the doctors good news that you are fertile and have fun trying to make a baby. Life is too short to worry so just enjoy it. Good luck and God bless.
