Worried about blockage

So earlier I had some blood on my stool. Doctor ran me through some blood work, had an ultrasound and everything was completely normal. Then later I had constipation. Which I have right now. Sometimes when I go to the washroom, the stool is smaller than usual, and not a lot come out. I’m worried about blockage. I got checked out, doctor ran me through an x-ray and said i’m constipated but nothing seems to be blocking my bowel. Any suggestions or help? or anyone experience anything similar? I’m 19.

Hi maybe its internal haemmharoids? I have them and they do sometimes get swollen and bleed and during those times my stools are smaller / compressed and it takes a lot more effort to have a bowel movement, so also worried about blockage. Not sure if that helps but just wanted to say I often experience similar. My haemmharoids were confirmed on colonoscopy but as they are also external I could feel them and was aware of them for a long time before that (like spherical nodules around my anus). They would normally be easily picked up on a rectal exam too, even if they are just internal.

At your age it is unlikely to be anything sinister. If doctor was concerned, they would have told you to have a scope of some sort. There are lots of gentle constipations meds so you could in the first instance try buying something over the counter. If no joy, then speak to your GP again.. probably a haemorrhoid.

I have had a blockage caused by scar tissue from a previous surgery. The main symptom was excruciating abdominal pain. You should always talk to your doctor though.
