Hi, I’ve had it for just over a year now and haven’t had my bowel removed. My doctors haven’t even mentioned it but again I’m only a year into this. Only after a recent hospital admission where I couldn’t keep food/drink down and was severely dehydrated did they prescribe me the tablet from of Welchol, which I assume you’ve probably already tried, too.

It almost causes bowel obstruction if taken correctly but without it I have the awful diarrhea and become dehydrated. It is a tough battle to win with BAM.

Hi Morgowen, living with BAM is soul destroying, you loose the social aspect part of your life, your unable to enjoy going out or on holiday incase you have a bad flair up and you ruin the night / holiday for others. Hopefully they will cure it soon. Jim
