Alendronate

I was recently diagnosed with Osteoporosis and just started Alendronate. I read about so many side effects and that it did not do any good, so I am worried. Has anyone had improved T-scores after taking it?

Hi there. I was really worried about taking it too. I’m only a few weeks in, so too early to look at T scores, but I’ve not had side effects. I tend towards reflux so I scaled up the advice - alot of water, not just a small glass and not just sipped, to really wash it into my stomach. Then stayed upright and without any food or drink for at least an hour. It’s a bit of a hassle but it’s worked for me so far.

Thank you for your reply. I also tend toward reflux and also drink a lot of water and stay upright longer too!
