I found out I had osteoporosis about five months ago, offered hospital appointment to discuss it, not knowing what would be offered because I hadn’t been told anything about it before I got there. I was asked if my teeth were ok! Suggestion that I get a dental check! I was told I had a -3 reading in upper left arm, not in spine or elsewhere, asked what I wanted to do, no information other than do I want an infusion at hospital once a year, or take tablets? Infusion was zolendronic acid which I researched after and decided I didn’t want. Was given the ok by dentist but he asked if I had started treatment. Have since found out it can cause blood supply to jaw bone so having a yearly infusion is a problem if I had to have any extraction in between infusions, at 90 how risky is that? I have seen someone that had to have two teeth out while taking the tablets, horrendous how she looks and what she went through, hence my decision not to go ahead and taking omprazol for about five years without any checks being made even though I asked for them but was told I needed to take it. I knew I needed to get a check but wasn’t offered. I stopped taking it and have not needed it since. From what I have read on this forum I think it is the cause of osteoporosis diagnosis. I have a telephone appointment with the hospital next month to discuss my treatment, but I’ve told Dr I’m not taking either the infusion, injections or tablets, I’m researching bone strengthening organic tablets myself so hoping to manage without the horrible alternatives offered by the NHS I’ve asked for a b12 blood test because I have read that should have been checked and magnesium can be affected as well after being on omprazol for so long. Just got to be very careful with prescription medication now, it seems the NHS seems to be very happy to dish out tablets before investigating more thoroughly other options that might be the cause of the problem.

Have you had a simple blood test to rule out hyperparathyroidism? When one part of the body, in your case your arm, has a particularly high reading it can indicate this. In my case it was my wrist. If this is the case then no treatment will work until the offending gland has been surgically removed. Have a read of this.
I agree with t1gernidster. If that's the only site that shows osteoporosis it could be an indication of hyperparathyroidism, so you definitely need blood tests for that. Do you have your t-scores for your hip and spine? Do you have arthritis in any of the areas they scanned, as that could make scores look better than they actually are. At age 90, most people will have osteoporosis, but that doesn't mean everyone will fracture. Were you given a DEXA scan following a fracture, or because you're on Omeprazole? Sorry, lots of questions, but any recommendation for medication shouldn't be based on one single t-score. You also need to be aware that medication doesn't necessarily prevent fractures, it simply reduces the risk. Most people won't fracture, even if not taking meds, but for those who will fracture without meds, 50% will still fracture while taking a bisphoshonate. There's a very helpful patient decision aid by NICE, which explains all this. I can't share the link at the moment, but if you Google NICE bisphoshonate patient decision aid, it should come up.
Please have a look at my story as it has some ideas in it about supplements, etc which could be of interest/useful to you:

It's shocking that you were not properly monitored for the possible side effects of the PPI.
