Painful arm

I have developed an odd pain in one arm. I have recently started taking risedronate for osteoporosis which badly affects my spine. I know bisphosphonates can cause bone pain, but wonder if this can affect just one limb, or if I must look for another cause.

I had bone pain among other side effects when I took alendronic acid in 2020 - it was mostly in my left hip which worried me a lot because the pain was not there until I started the alendronic acid.

Thank you for that. It seems odd in just one place, but it's different to anything I've had before. Unsettling!

It is, I felt really nervous about it and I’m not easily freaked out.

I Know how you feel about arm pain. I have Osteoporosis and tears in both my shoulders. It’s to the point I have very limited uses of them with the left being worse. I have to have total shoulder surgery but have to get relayed off of Prolia first. I have been wondering if the Prolia is causing my arms worse now as I have had many side effects from 1 Shot. Hope you find an answer to your arm pain.

walk21, pain causes a loss of magnesium needed for a diverse number of functions in the body including as a cofactor needed to activate vitamins D and B1 and balance calcium. You also may be deficient in vitamin D so have your level checked as bone pain is a symptom of low vitamin D and do use K2 with it. Boron is important for bone and it also recycles vitamin D. Search on "Nothing Boring about Boron" for more info. Also, look into the benefits of annatto tocotrienol for bone structure and formation. Always consult your health care provider before using any supplement.

Hi, I take risedronate for my osteoporosis which is in my spine and my left hip. I've been on it about a year now but have had no problems with it affecting my limbs elsewhere so I would maybe ask your Dr to check you out.
