what do you do to get comfy or relieve pain?
e.g take magnesium?
something topical?
thanks
question 2, what pain medication have you used? i guess it'll be up to the prescribing doctor,
but people here often have extra knowledge and tips

I haven't taken anything for spasms. Was finally prescribed a muscle relaxer, but haven't had a spasm since getting it. I have taken it for the more generalized back pain, maybe it actually is kind of a spasm (?) I have after working--just so sore I can barely move--but it doesn't touch that pain. It does put me to sleep, though, so that's kind of nice.
Oh, I lie. One time, after a particularly bad spasm event, I took some oxycodone I had left over from when I had surgery. THAT was amazing. It was like I could feel layers of pain lifting off me, pains I didn't even know I had being revealed, then eased, as the previous one moved on. Holy cow, I could see why people like it. Probably that won't be recommended though, eh?
Something my husband's doctor at the time suggested to him when he had fractures (but not spasms, that I know of,) was "2 tylenol, 2 aspirin and a hot bath." I've tried that and it IS pretty effective, just not always convenient.
my Mum's on script medication, something like a step up from o.t.c, and i asked about anything stronger, but the dr said no - hopefully for good reason
of a range of services offered to my Mum at the hospital, she did some physical therapy, mostly walking technique, but i think now is not the time, and if psychologist is available to anyone, i think it would go far.
not my advice but part of my dr's advice to me.
