Does anyone on the 6 months prolia injections suffer from hair loss, i have been on prolia for a few years but now my hair is falling out and i don't know why

I have had severe hair loss, handfuls falling out. I take pred and prolia...hard to know why hair fell out...now on a few mgs of pred and still on prolia and hair has grown back. I wear colorful scarves and ignore it. Taken about 3 years to grow back. I m afraid it is just another thing that seems to happen to a few of us. BTW when I say grow back...it isn't very impressive. sending you good wishes foryour pmr journey

I used Prolia for about 4 1/2 yrs and did not experience hair loss.

Sorry to read your news, how upsetting. I took prolia from 2012 to 2017 and back on it again in 2021, I didn't have any great side effects.

At least Agingfeminist was able to give a positive note.

Is it worth a call to the ROS helpline to see what they say?

Hi. Can't attest to Prolia but I had hair loss before being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Maybe check that out if you haven't already.

Looking at the comments, I'm surprised how long some of you have been on it. My endocrinologist stated that you can only take it for a couple of years(which I interpret as 2) then you have to switch to something else or will be prone to fractures and worsening. Did you all have any bad side effects with it, besides losing hair?

I did prolia for 3 injections and hair loss and hair thinning in clumps. Everyone has pooh pooh it saying it is an ave thing. I disagree. Website said it was a side effect. Transition ed to rec last last Friday and not fairing so well. My left knee doesn't want to function as a knee. Can't lift the lower leg. Its the only medication I take. Not sure I will be doing round two in another year.
