I spoke with my GP and after some discussion I am going to try Raloxifene. It works in a different way to the other treatments (AA and Riseondrate) so I’m hoping I can manage this new regime .
Has anyone been on Raloxifine? 🤞

Hi, I don't know about the drug you decided upon, but I can say I was so bad with AA that I wanted to kill myself ! After many many months of understandable fear and deliberation I finally decided to try Riseondrate. - So far I have had 9 (weekly) pills with no side effects whats-so-ever. - So, in short, if you have to try Riseondrate, you may be ok with it. Best of luck
Yes me! I had 2 years of teriparatide and went straight on to Raloxifene when that finished. I refused oral bisphosphonates because I get heartburn from lots of medication/supplements (including calcium carbonate) and I wasn’t prepared to try the zoledronate infusion and potentially have a year of side effects.
I’ve been fine with Raloxifene so far (started October last year) - no flushing much to the surprise of the bone clinic nurse who really wanted me on a bisphosphonate and went on at length about the hot flushing.. it has made my hair slightly thinner and it wasn’t great to start but that’s an acceptable side effect to me. Also when I need a wee I have to go quite urgently but that’s not generally a problem!
I am pretty active so at this point not too bothered about the risk of dvt.
So it’s pretty much fine for me and at this point I see no reason not to take it for the rest of my life - which I’m hoping is reasonably long! I’m 67 now and still working part time.
