.I was receiving zolodronic acid infusion yearly for 2 years and stopped due to side affects..so didn't have the third one so have not had any for 21 months..I have not seen a dentist for ne 3 years and have to go now because have a cap come off or a filling not sure ime worried about dental work because of the zolodronic acid and bone loss of the jaw is it still in my system after 21 months,any information would be appreciated it's very worrying I've read a lot about the treatment being difficult

As I understand it, the only worry is if you need extractions. Fillings and capping are not going to affect the bone. Very few people are affected by jaw bone problems anyway but if you did need an extraction your dentist might want you to have it done in hospital Try not to worry!
Very important you visit your dentist as good dental hygiene and regular visits to your dentist are especially important when the risk of osteonecrosis is present. Dentists are very aware of the problems which can occur after treatment and you will be well cared for. Ask the dentist any questions you may have.
Make sure you inform your dentist about having taken zoledronic acid prior to having any dental work done. Additionally, you need to start seeing your dentist twice a year, that along w/ flossing once a day and brush twice daily are the best ways to prevent needing extensive dental work. Prevention is 95% of the battle. Based on what you wrote, I don’t think you should worry about ONJ.
