I have osteoarthritis in both my knees and the doc is giving me cortisone injections in them both tomorrow. I have diabetes and glaucoma so have read my blood sugar levels will rise after and it can also affect pressure in my eyes? Also, will some kind of numbing gel be applied first?

Hi yvonneu,

My daughter K has had cortisone injections in her shoulders a couple of times. K is a type 1 diabetic, and was unable to control exceptionally high blood sugars for about 72hrs after each injection. They didn't help K at all, but I know lots of people do benefit from them.,,,,,,,,,,here's hoping that you do.

Wishing you the best of luck tomorrow.

Hey yvonneu , I want you to do some research to raise your awareness of each of these that may benefit your knees and hands using magnesium and boron along with tocotrienol from annatto. By the way, magnesium is needed to activate thiamine as well as vitamin D and there is a form of thiamine called benfotiamine that may help with diabetes and eye health although water soluble forms of thiamine are capable too. Also research thiamine and the brain. Be aware of anti thiamine factors that can diminish or destroy thiamine some of which are in the stuttersence link. Familarize yourself with magnesium's effect on glucose homeostasis as well. Always consult with your health care provider before using any supplement.

Thank you...Will look into that

The injections really don’t hurt I’ve had a number of them in both knees and walked home after them Just don’t look if it bothers you and keep your mind totally occupied by counting or talking to your doctor. Please don’t get yourself worked up about them keep calm it’s soon over and you’ll think why did it worry you. Take care and look forward to having less pain x

Iv had injections in my shoulder honestly didn’t hurt. Not deep breathes but little short pants and it worked fabulous. The doc that gave me taught me about short pants not deepBreathes try it I hope it works for you. I’m hoping to get for my back soon if I can convince docs. Good luck. Thinking about things is

Usually harder than doing. Let your mind take you to your favourite place and pant. X
