Help understand xray. Very stiff joints and pain in the right wrist. I do not get the results until the 15th of May. Is anyone able to tell me if anything has come up on the xray.

Xray
Why can't you get results before? Unless there is a valid reason I think this is an unacceptable time to wait, and suggest you ask your MP to investigate - or anyone/any body you can think of. Waiting this long is a form of cruelty.
Have you had a blood test?
I agree with Veriterc, it’s a ridiculous time to have to wait. Are you in the UK? If so I would see my GP.
No I'm in Spain and its private I can't believe it takes so long either they just have no appointments sooner I waited 6 weeks for the x ray even which I'm not happy at as I think an mri would show more then an xray as I don't think its a bone problem and I have eds. Yes I had a blood test also. I'm going to take it to my normal dr today but I'm sure he will say I need to wait for the rheumatologist. 😥
An X-ray may show a broken bone, but if you haven’t suffered a trauma to it, it’s probably not broken.
If your joints are swollen and painful, it’s probably osteoarthritis, or even rheumatoid arthritis. A specific blood test ( RA latex if they still do them) would indicate the latter.
My husband had a split knee cartilage diagnosed from a MRI scan, but not sure whether this would show osteoarthritis.
If you need to get more blood taken, ask for a vit D test as well, as it’s useful to know your level.
Have you asked advice on an arthritis forum?
I hope it’s soon sorted out for you.
Best wishes
No I have not I might check there now. Yes I have had a vitamin d test it has come back 27,37 ng/ml (30-100) range so just a bit under.
Yes I was disappointed they did not do an mri instead of the xray as I already have ehler danlos and im sure the pain is more tissue/muscle related rather then a bone problem but its what the rheumatologist ordered. What blood tests should I ask for to check for? I'm sure they are going to fob me of in may with everything is ok.
Your D level may be ‘just a bit under’ the range you have been given, but it’s certainly under the lower ‘optimal ‘ range of 50ng/ml.
Are you now taking a D3 supplement?
If not, may I suggest you read up on the subject, to make up your own mind. For more information you can do a Vitamin D ‘search’ both on this forum and the US National OP Foundation forum.
I got my level to 70 ng/ml by taking 5000 IU of D3. I then reduced the dose to 2000 IU of D3 a day to try to maintain this level. I get my level checked twice a year. We are all different in our requirements.
Best wishes
I take Vit D Drops every Day as prescribed by my GP which keeps my Vit D levels at 50... I also have EDS so I can understand your pain, hopefully you will get some answers.
