Has anyone found a gym or personal trainer in London who can help with strength training for OP? An Australian programme claims to be able to help even with people who have fractured - see theboneclinic.com.au Be nice to find something similar here. Thanks.

Strength training for osteoporosis

Australia and Canada seem to be way ahead of the UK in this area.
Thanks Nanaedake, yes it’s frustrating the lack of support for anything other than drug treatment for OP in the UK. No integrative or functional medicine and no specialist exercise support. It’s so hard evaluating research as a non-specialist to put together our own packages of bone support.
I attend the Bone Clinic (just started) and their results are impressive (though it is early days for me). They do have an ‘at home’ programme called ‘Onero’ but I am not sure if it is intended for use outside Australia. You could write to them and see if they have any pointers for you in the UK - you never know.
I can tell you that their work centres around 3 lifts - the deadlift, the squat with weight and the overhead press, plus some core and balance and impact. However it is all supervised because how you do these moves is critical. I attended 8 sessions just to learn how to do the lifts. We also start very very very slowly on the weights. If you could find an Osteo focussed trainer to coach you maybe that is an option???
I hope that helps.
