Hi. I’m 68 female. Borderline osteoporosis. My specialist said it’s ok to jog but I remember not that long ago we were told NOT to jog with osteoporosis! Trusting my specialist and starting to do the Couch to 5k. Anyone else got comments on this? Helen

Hi, everyone's situation is different even though we, on this forum, have been diagnosed with osteopenia/osteoporosis. I only jog a little indoors to get my steps up but I would never contemplate jogging outside. It would be disastrous for me to try! I am not always very sensible I but would not take that risk! ;)

I wish you well with your Couch to 5K should you decide to continue. :)

Oh dear! Scan and together we decided that jogging, lunges and star jacks were exactly what I needed. I also horse ride, against advice. My spine is not even osteopenia. I reckon that is from my horse riding.

I don't think it is good to jog if you have osteoporosis. Why not do gentle exercises like walking, swimming?

Agree with Joya. Why not walk fast instead? Steps are the same, and the damage to your knees is less.
