Is anyone taking Raloxifene and finding they are suffering urinary frequency. Akin to cystitis but without the pain or burning. I am running back and forth to the loo and getting up every 1.5 hours per night too (been on this now for two months). I don't have an infection and am loathe to stop Raloxifene until I know whether this might be the cause. But I can't carry on like this i dread going to bed. Thanks

The side effect you have mentioned is unfortunately listed in this link under More Common: drugs.com/sfx/evista-side-e...
Thank you for your reply Kaarina
Yes I thought I had read that somewhere but could only find 'urinary problems', but guessed it was an unlikely side effect for me as I am not suffering from any of the other side effects. Well, off to GP tomorrow for her opinion but don't know what next as do not want to take Alendronic Acid or the other similar meds as have quite a lot of dental treatment and already suffer with swallowing difficulties and reflux due to a hiatus hernia.
I can understand your reasoning. It is so annoying isn't it but I can quite understand that the side effect you are experiencing is unpleasant and it is obviously affecting your sleep pattern too. Do let us know how you get on.
Yes I will. Right now though, my choice will be to stop taking it, I had hoped the symptoms would go away but it's been three months or more now and I have had enough. I can't even sit in the evening without nipping in and out of the loo it's ridiculous. Although, if there is something I can take to counter act that I suppose that would be good, but yet another med on top of the Levo, T3, Omeprazole, Clonazepam, Calcium and other vits I take!
It is a shame that you have to take Omeprazole especially if you have already been taking it for some time and will need to continue to do so. Saying that we sometimes have to weigh up the pros and cons or taking a certain drug.
"Chronic proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use has been linked to an increased risk of hip, wrist, and spine fractures. This is because acid suppression is associated with a reduction in calcium absorption, which can lead to decreased bone density."10 Jan 2016
There are drugs to calm the bladder, as you say and also foods that can help calm the bladder...... but I have no idea how that works really.
Not on Raloxifine Lor, but I've alwas had urinary frequency. Good job we have a downstairs loo as well as the bathroom or I'd never make it in time. 8-(
I broke my wrist and put it down to taking a PPI for abt 15years. It was a nasty break and will take a very long time to heal. Kaarina is spot on with reason and wish had never taken them. I stopped them immediately and find Gaviscon or Slippery Elm just as effective.
Doctors are way too quick in writing prescriptions for what is a very strong drug with serious side effects.
