Falling over

Good news!

It's strange how certain bad things can be good. On Friday evening I tripped on a kerb and fell hard on both my wrists and then my knees. We're all worried about fractures, but probably like most of you would have been, I was so happy to have had this opportunity to test the strength of my wrists. Yes they're still a bit sore and the knees are bloody but I still have my wrists intact.

Feeling blessed for another day

I know the feeling Poddysss.. I too tripped on Saturday and put my right hand out to break the fall. My palm and wrist were inflamed but now a lot better. What a relief that no bones appear to have been broken. I was so worried!

I wonder if we're sisters in falling? I fell at around 8.30 pm( haha) I'm so glad you're ok, well done

Thanks poddysss. Sadly I am a master at tripping over especially when I am rushing. On this occasion I was rushing to collect medication for my Dad and tripped in the corridor of the hospital where areas were cordoned off by workmen.

I was doubly relieved as I had a recent DEXA which showed slight improvement re: my osteoporosis. I have a consultation with the osteoporosis consultant next week and would probably have had difficulty fighting my need not to take medication had I broken bones in Saturday!

Have a good day

Hi Misty, I cannot rush when walking. That is heading for a disaster with me. I would rather miss the bus and wait half an hour for the next one! ;)

Thanks Kaarina. Something I need to take on board! I get a bit ‘robotic’ when I have lots of things to do and that’s when I start rushing...lesson learnt

I agree, if I fall I feel blessed that I have not broken anything. The last time it was only my glasses case which got flattened and would not close properly - I was so relieved! ;)

So pleased kaarina. You didn't even damage your glasses. We have to count our blessings don't we? If I had broken my wrist I would have been completely devastated as I still have to work and I need my hands for my work and would not have any income so I'd lose my home. I guess this is a message to myself to be more careful.

Another chance to pick up my feet ! Have a fall free day everyone!

You poor thing. So pleased you and your hands felt so much better the following day. I too hope the consultant is really worth seeing after waiting for so long. Do let us know how it goes.
