I was diagnosed 2 months ago. I've gotten over the "why me" reaction, last month. Now amidst the battle. I know it is a difficult one. From reading other posts, positivity and hope, I see often repeated. I say a prayer for all of us tonight. God bless, and don't let your heart be troubled (or at least don't forget a deserved break). From a newcomer. Any tips from those who've been fighting this fight?

Difficult Battle- All
There are many treatment options for HCC that weren’t available even a few years ago. If you are not a surgical candidate for resection or transplant, encourage you to educate yourself on the options so you can discuss and be your own advocate. Blue Faery has a wonderful patient resource book. Take a family member or friend to appts so there’s more than just your listening ears and have them take notes. Although HCC has no cure it’s possible to outlive the bleak prognosis and live with HCC and have quality of life while doing it. My husband had y90 twice, DEBtace procedure, and was on several targeted therapy meds and felt the best on Avastin/Tecentriq which wasn’t available when he was first diagnosed so stay hopeful about new treatments that are coming out. Prayers are with you! Bonnie
Hi bwpickard ! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear that our patient resource guide has been helpful in you and your husband's journey 💙 ✨
Like Bonnie said, there are new options out there now that weren't available a few years ago when our late husbands started this fight. They are working on getting new ones approved. Praying that one of these available will help buy you some time until something better is available. To me though, one of the main things that's important in living with HCC is to LIVE. Cherish every day and life to the fullest for whatever amount of time you have whether is days, months or years. Andrea has made sure we have lots of support, knowledge and resources available to us here so take advantage of them. It's sad but I always got much more knowledge about side effects, etc HERE than we ever got from, the doctors.
Praying for you.
Sharon ❤
