This past Saturday, Jimmy and I got married. 😂. Well we're already married but we did have a vow renewal ceremony. He asked me on New Year's Eve if knowing what we know, would I still have married him? I said yes and so he mentioned to the Hospice Chaplain that we wanted to renew our vows. The next thing I know I'm getting a phone call from the Volunteer Coordinator to set up a meeting to plan a wedding. We did it on only two and a half weeks which I thought was pretty good. She got a local BBQ restaurant to furnish a BBQ dinner for reception, got my wedding cake donated and also a gorgeous bouquet from a local florist. In addition, the Hospice furnished plates, plastic ware, table cloths, flowers and other decorations, etc. Even sent volunteers out to help move things and mow. My good friend and Maid of Honor built a wedding arch for us to use plus found some cool rustic decorations. Jimmy's nurses helped decorate and took pictures, etc. His brother (a retired pastor) officiated. We did our own vows and I used non traditional music but songs that meant something to use. One of his oldest friends walked me down the aisle to Jimmy. We had it out in our yard with the flowers blooming and family and close friends in attendance. Oh, my processional song was Crazy Love by Van Morrison, Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce was played after we said our vows and we walked out to In My Life by the Beatles. Joy of my Life sang by Chris Stapleton and Garth Brooks The Dance were our reception songs. It was a wonderful day and everyone was crying when we exchanged our vows. The Volunteer Coordinator recorded it so I'll always have it to see. Such a happy day. ❤️❤️❤️

Renewed Our Wedding Vows
I love that picture of you guys! What a beautiful thing that hospice pulled together for you. I am so, so happy you got to renew your vows, and share the day with the people who mean so much to you. Every detail had that personal touch - just wonderful! ❤️
Hugs and love,Wendy
Thank you Wendy. It was a lot of work even with their help. Sure couldn't have done it without them. I was too ambitious in my date planning. 😂. I forget I'm old sometimes and think I can still get things done as quickly as I used to. 😂. I also forget to factor in Jimmy's bad days when I might not get anything done. I should have given us at least a month to get it organized instead of 2 and a half weeks. At the time though, Jimmy was pushing for it to be quickly so I was afraid he was keeping some health thing from me and it NEEDED to be quick if you know what I mean? Also my maid of honor thought she'd be able to come over and help more but her suburban broke down so that made it harder to get things done. But thanks to God, the Hospice and their wonderful staff and volunteers, as well as our family and friends it all turned out great. Hate that I still had Poison Oak all over so didn't get to wear dress I'd wanted but had to be covered from head to toe. 😂 If you weren't all the way up at North Pole lol you would have been here with us. At least you can watch the video on line. Love you my friend. ❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou for sharing such a special day for the 2 of you!!! <3 Bonnie
Good morning Bonnie. Yes it was such a special day. A precious memory I'll always have of my sweet Jimmy and cancer can't take that away from me. He was so exhausted by the end of the day but so happy that he gave me the wedding he wanted me to have. Thank you for all the love, prayers and support that you always send our way. Sharon ❤️❤️❤️
