hello folks, I’ve searched the main search bar and nothing much is coming up and it’s also not a condition I can select on healthunlocked.
I am mum to two young disabled adults and have lived with 17 years of very little and disturbed sleep, first my heart went out of kilter with long term persistent afib, now I can’t control my blood pressure. I was a consistent 110/75 for years, now it shoots up really high then dips down low and I have no regularity. Lack of sleep and stress are known causes. There isn’t a treatment path for it, just managing symptoms, so I wondered if anyone here has had any success in getting it under control?
Thanks!

your condition isn’t as common as “ordinary” hypertension so you might not get many responses.
Because of your caring responsibilities you need to put your own needs higher.
You probably know this already, as well as the fact that local councils (mine’s the county council, yours might be different) are mandated to care for carers, so as to speak, and awareness of the website of Blood Pressure UK.
Thanks so much Rosie, yes putting myself first is easier said than done. We are in touch with social care and I have had a carers assessment but as we all know staffing is thin and money is in short supply. That is definitely my route to stabilising my health. I hoped maybe there were other tips too.
