Hi all I have had a lot of issues with BP meds currently on Felodipine 7.5mg and in general they are by far the best I have used. However I am an insomniac and Felodipine has definitely exacerbated this. No sleep at all last night. GP prescribed Mirtazapine to help but I only took half a dose and was groggy until 2 30 next day. Couldn't possibly drive or even go out. I have been referred to a pharmacologist and she has suggested Hydrazine or Moxonidine.I have researched these and they seem nasty. Any ideas for help with sleep ? I tried Magnesium and Lions Mane Supplements which worked really well but apparently Lions Mane causes problems with blood clotting so I had to stop.
Any help I would be very grateful. Thanks as ever

my view is that a pharmacist is the person to ask. Which you’ve done already (or pharmacologist!). You may get some insight from the website of Blood Pressure UK into your particular circumstances.
Thanks Happy Rosie. I did contact blood pressure UK but they couldn't help. Just feel I am running out of options though I am now seeing my GP every four weeks and that is helping. Have appointment with Pharmacist next week so may learn something new there. All the best
Have you tried Melatonin? It used to be the good old standby for people who have trouble getting to sleep. I took it ages ago and it worked for me. And my dog actually has a Melatonin treat to calm her.
It's a crap shoot finding the right med! I take the lowest dose of anything because I am a rapid metabolizer of drugs, most of which have not been tested to see how each person reacts geneticallu. But it is critical that this be done! Nothing is one size fits all!!
