Has anyone had side effects while taking Losartan?
I've been on 25mg daily dose for 6 months.

Hi Pressured,
I take losartan 25mg and have done so for two years but don't feel light headed or tired. Have you felt this way since you started taking them, or have you only experienced the light headedness recently?
Have you taken your blood pressure when you are feeling light headed? It could be that they are reducing your blood pressure too much.
I hope you are able to resolve it after discussing it with your GP.
Hi Dovedale - After discussing with my GP I've come off Losartan for a month. I'll try to bring down my BP naturally if I can. I don't think it will be easy as I already lead quite a healthy lifestyle and I think my BP is hereditary. Anyway I'll report back in October.
Hi Pressured,
I'm glad that you have come to a decision with the help of your GP. You can only try and, if your blood pressure doesn't reduce, there are other BP meds that may not give you side effects.
I know what you mean about heredity. My grandmother had hypertension and I must have inherited it! I follow all the advice re diet and exercise but still need BP meds.
Good luck and do let us know how you get on.
Thanks BP , my wife ordered me the book last week, I'll have a read this week.
Thanks BP didnt know that. I'm usually sitting when I take my BP with arm resting on my desk. I have however noticed my pulse rate rises everytime I take my BP usually with rise in BP reading - I cant seem to totally relax. Any tips?
I take 50mg Losrtan with 2.50mg. Felidipine.Belive me all BP meds give you side effects. All give you light-headedness as you get used to them.Maybe you need lower dose.Drs should not keep trying to make us all 120/80. Take your time.If it gets really unbearable tell your Dr.
