I have been taking Atenolol and Losartan for many years to control my high blood pressure but it seems that recently my BP is high again so about 3 months ago Lercanidipine was been added to the other two tablets.
At first I felt a bit woozy and tired but that has worn off. However, in the last few days I have had a slight headache and tingling feeling in my lower legs and also feel agitated.
I would really value your thoughts on this. Does Lercanidipine cause such side effects? All the information leaflets say effects should wear off within a week.
I should also add that I have bouts of anxiety so worrying about this is definitely not helping.
Really looking forward to hearing from you.

thoughts - have you recently paid extra attention to your weight, salt consumption, exercise etc? If you review these, as would be a very good idea for anyone! you might find that this will help. Also plenty of water to drink.
My other thought is to point you towards the charity that specialises in hypertension, Blood Pressure UK.
Thanks for your reply and good advice. I have always been very careful not to put on weight if possible, low salt intake and my little dog makes sure I have plenty of exercise so I can't understand why my BP just won't come down. I have had blood test that have come back OK. I am wondering if hormones (or lack of) could be to blame, although that is something the GPs tend not to investigate. Perhaps I will ask on my next visit. Will also look at Blood Pressure UK. Thanks for that.
Hi RBQ43, I take Lercanidipine but haven’t had the side effects you’ve mentioned. Maybe it’s the 3 different tablets interacting with each other. Best to check it out with your GP.
When I started Lercanidipine I had restless leg and I found excercise does help. Even sitting down in the evening I will stretch my calves and twirl my feet. I drink loads of water too and found my legs are much better. Or it could be I’m just getting used to the tabs now. Symptoms can be unpredictable/ come and go!
