I’m on candesartan and have always taken it before bed. I recently had it reduced from 32mg to 16mg because I had another drug increased for another issue and they were worried about my BP being too low.

I have never had any issues on candesartan. I sleep well but often have incredible dreams - but I think that might be from one of the other drugs I’m on.

I'm taking Losartan which is the same family of drug. I have taken Candesartan in the past, and yes, it is mood-altering. Losartan less so - for me at least - but it does affect me in a similar way. I take it at bedtime and am guaranteed to have a restless night with feverish dreams. I think morose is the best word to describe its effects. The problem is that every drug has its side effects and we have to decide which we can live with and tolerate best.
