A recent study, taking place over several years with several thousand UK participants, has recently concluded.
The bottom line is that the time of day - morning or evening - to take blood pressure medication does not affect the frequency of outcomes such as strokes and heart attacks.
The study was comprehensive and I got the results because I was a participant since almost the beginning. If anyone wants more information, please post here and I can give more data.

But your doctor is looking at YOU, and might feel that you, personally, are better off taking the pill later on. One of the study’s findings was that those who took their pills in the morning had, statistically, a higher incidence of dizziness.
The National Institute for Clinical Evidence (NICE) will no doubt take this study into account next time they review their guidance for doctors on the pathways that they (doctors) should take.
Thank u so much for that information, it’s always a quandary. I take mine in the morning and find they work very well. A male friend of mine takes his in the evening and often forgets to take them. His GP has never advised him to consider the morning, I will let him know of this research. 😊
I had a quick look at this article. If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, I read an article about this study a few years ago. The criticism was that it was a poorly done study and that not too much reliance should be put on it. But I’m open to be refuted!
