Heart Specialists Disagree on Aspirin Dose

Serebruany says he decided to investigate the relationship between aspirin dose and bleeding risk because there was a difference of opinion among heart specialists. "Cardiologists all like aspirin, but they disagree about how much aspirin should be used."

He analyzed data from 31 published studies that included information from 200,000 heart disease patients. All the patients were on daily aspirin therapy at doses ranging from 30 mg daily to 1,300 mg daily.

Robert Bonow, MD, who is chief of cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, tells WebMD that, "I think it's fairly clear from these data that low-dose aspirin is probably the best choice for prevention -- certainly it is the best choice for [preventing first heart attacks]." now go your own docs and most disagree they say its for secondary prevention, who knows best, i think the cardiology docs would ,

and to add to the complexity: were these heart patients already suffering from cardiac issues or were they older people who were otherwise well?

now who do they use for these studies,im74 and met millions of people in my lifetime not one i no as ever been studied over a periob of time ,ive asked abourt it and it does not exist for normal people, are these so called studies done on people in hospital who are bad or well, and how do they follow it up,its a farce, how can they follow thousands of people over say 70 for years most are bad anyway, ask on here who has been studied, the more you read you realise its the companies who make millions selling bp pills etc who fund them, its so flawed.i was reading a report on aspirin even the doc presenting it admitted it does prevent primary heart attacks/stroke with a risk of bleeding, but millions rather take it ,id rather have a gi bleed, easily treated than a heart atack or stroke,so hands up on here who is even on a 5 year study, i bet i no the answer,

well of all the people i have asked the question to over the last few years none have known anyone and i ask the question to anyone i talk to, my friend works in the operating theatre of the royal stoke and knows of no one,she asked on my behalf if any of the 36 surgeons and consultants knew of any one and they did not, for years ive thought it was a scam or they just did a few in hospital. well no one on here has responded that they have been on a trial for any years, who do they pick, where do they get them from, how do they follow it up,are they on pills to start with there are to meny variants to ever get a true picture, who checks them up,not doctors over here you cannot even get to see them unless you dying lol.in all fairness anyone can get anything published , if you pay, does not meen its true or anyone ever reads it, i will put a poll up to see how meny have,im sure they wont lie , if elvis name pops up will not be surprised .
