Any advice needed to make me feel better

So iv been on blood pressure medication since my first pregnancy 4years ago, then I had a baby a couple of months ago and had to return again to mix up the medication to suit me. I'm on 40mg of omesar, 10mg bisoprolol furumate and now my doctor has added 10mg lercanidipine in the last 4 days... It seems like so much to me, and I haven't been feeling well, anyone have this much and feel so bad or is it just from a change of a tablet??? Iv got headaches and get so dizzy and lightheaded during the day I have to keep sitting down, I'm even going to bed at 7 now cause I simply can't stay on my feet any longer. Just feel miserable and it's making me very sad that something is seriously wrong or something. Any answers would be great please

Hi Imtryingtoo. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so bad but I feel this is something you need to speak to your doctor about as it may be that the Lercanidipine does not suit you. Alternatively, you could have a word with your pharmacist as they know more than GPs about medications or you could ring the British Heart Foundation Helpline for advice, the number is below. I hope all will be well.

Hi, I do hope you feel a bit better soon, have the headaches started since you took the Lercanidipine? That is one of the side effects, but if you persevere they do go completely. It’s probably just while your body’s getting used to it. I think I had them and felt lightheaded and tired for about 2-3 weeks then all of a sudden I felt loads better so maybe that’s how it will be for you too. All the best.

Thankyou so much for your reply, Iv kind of always suffered with headaches (probably not realising it was blood pressure) but yeah they seem to be couple times of day now since starting this new tablet, I was a solpadiene user also and have stopped them completely this week as well as eating abit more healthy and halfing my nicotine intake altogether (I'm trying) I went to the doctor today and my bp was 139/90 (which seems to be the usual for me) it was much higher Monday when checked, I explained how I was feeling and he put it down to the combination of all I mentioned. Fingers crossed it lifts so I don't like feeling like this with two small babies at home, I'm always thinking the worse.

Good luck with the quitting nicotine, it can be done! I did it when I was 32 and I’m now 64 👍. And you’re trying to eat healthily, and I’m sure two small babies will be giving you plenty of exercise….

Smile, stretch and start thinking positively too. You can do this 😊

That's the nicest answer anyone has givin me all week, I feel wore out with worry. Thankyou for bringing me to tears simply from kindness. Hopefully I get there, my girls need me. If I could just shake this rubbish feeling and constant worry I know I can take on anything. Thankyou. Stay safe

Hello I’m trying too

So sorry you are feeling like this. Especially with two small children. My main experience is with Lercanidipine and it definitely has side effects, headache etc dizziness, it’s difficult to function, mayb speak again to your pharmacist as the other people have suggested, you shouldn’t have to suffer like this.
