Candesartan and ibs

anyone experience stomach problems being on candesartan been on 2mg for over 5 years and have since have what gp says is ibs gp now has put me on 4mg due to blood pressure being im convinced that this medication causes stomach problems for me especially as its has lactose in the ingredients which they tell you if you have stomach problems avoid lactose doctors seem dismissive of my suggestion

Hi Davwill. I agree with Happyrosie, speak to your pharmacist if your GP won't listen as it's you who suffers not your GP. Have you checked the Patient Information Leaflet in the box to see if it's listed as a side effect? I am lactose intolerant too and I have been affected by several of the BP meds over the years but didn't know enough about it then to realise what was causing my symptoms and making me feel so bloated and miserable. There are other drugs they can prescribe for high BP. Good luck and I hope you get on OK.

I've been on 16 mg Candesarten over 15 years, no problems.

Hi Davwill, I have been on Candesarten, 2mg, for a few months now. My arm muscles are sore all the time and now in the last few weeks I keep getting attacks of diarrhea every few days. (they only last a day). I was starting to wonder if it was the Candesarten, your post has made me wonder even more.

I’ve been on candersartan for a while now and am noticing more and more ibs type symptoms. Like nungi I am suffering with diarrhoea every few days - usually after eating my evening meal. Only lasts that day and I am starting to think it started around the time I started taking candersarten
