Hi

Hello Chocolate - Love the name! I've recently responded to a similar post, and here is what I do:
Sit down and put the cuff on ready.
Pick up a book or something and relax for ten minutes.
After these ten, concentrate on your breathing for about a minute - not deep breaths but slow ones with eyes closed. No talking!!
Then hit the button to take a reading - still nice slow breaths.
Ignore the first reading, take an average of the next three.
Some people find that just taking the pressure is a bit stressful (yes it does squeeze). If you have someone with you, get them to write down the numbers for you without telling you the result.
I’ve found that just the slow breathing brings the BP down by at least ten, usually more, diastolic.
Hello there, to obtain the average, take your BP as usual and note down the values. Assuming you have taken three just add all the systolic ones (the first number) and divide by 3, now do the same for the diastolic (the second one). Regards Jannie. P. S. If you need any more info please ask.
