Are all ARB and ACE side effects the same in each class?

Hello - just wanted to ask if people find that all tablets in each class seem to have the same side effect on you or not?

Example - I have tried two ARB class drugs Telmisartan and Candesartan and both have given me back/muscle pain each time. I know this because between each drug i took some days clean inbetween to let the half life finish and the pains went away. Would this mean that if I was going to try another "ARB" class drug I would get the same side effect?

Previously I was on the ACE drug Lisinopril and suffered from skin rash/eczema - would this mean if I try another "ACE" drug I would get the same side effect?

Be interested to hear what others have found with this? Thanks

Hello Robin. In your position I would certainly have a word with my pharmacist. They are better informed about drugs and their actions and their inter-reactions than doctors are. Your question might be a little bit too technical for this forum.

No not at all. I tried ramipril which gave me a headache and a pounding heart beat which i came off and tried lisinopril and have neither of those 2 side effects.

Also tried diltiazem (a CCB) which gave me shortness of breath and made me feel like my right lung was blocked up. I came off that and onto Amlodipine and get neither of those side effects.
