My blood pressure went up to 248 after I fell at home 3 weeks ago. Took 3 hours before the ambulance people to arrive to get me up. I’ve got 2 knee replacements and a stiff ankle. Impossible to get up. They took me to hospital because of my blood pressure and put me on tablets but it goes no lower than 142. I’ve taken lots of different sorts before but nothing works.

High blood After a fall.
That sounds a horrible experience.I was diagnosed out of the blue with high blood pressure in March. It was 244/133 and I was given a gtn drip to bring it down.Had five days in hospital. On two meds, ramipril and amlodipine at 5mg which is holding it down.
A few months ago, I ended up in A&E with very high blood pressure out of the blue. They took an ECG and as my heart was fine, I was returned to the waiting room. Blood pressure was 250/115 and I was in the first stage of renal failure. Obviously not urgent enough. Before ambulance arrived, I had strange symptoms such as vomiting, vertigo and generally feeling yuk. I waited several hours and was exhausted. I signed myself out and went home. Saw my own GP next day and she was horrified. What had happened was a reaction to other medications that I was taking for something else. She put me on another BP drug to go with Candesartan which had been doing a fine job of keeping my BP down for some time on its own. Despite having the secondary drug, my PB did fall somewhat but not good enough. I did some research, and put myself on Kyolic Garlic. What a difference a capsule everyday makes.
Wow scary they discharged you like that.Which drug were you reacting to and how much difference have the garlic capsules made?
Reacting to vesicare for bladder and norflex and anti-inflammatories (high dose) for spine injury a year ago. I would say for me, using garlic caps have made a difference in lowering my BP after 3 weeks to a more acceptable level. The lowest its been for some time at 136/77 after being on 170/90 average or higher.
Wow that's a good drop! We've been eating more garlic recently but that's because I eat a mostly plant based diet now.
I think it was the Kyolic garlic caps that actually helped. Don't have the garlic breath or reek of it. I like garlic in cooking but hate the after effects, and the Kyolic garlic has none of these but the benefits. In fact, I would go as far to say that they, not the BP meds, caused the biggest impact on my BP dropping. My later readings, recently show an average of 138/80. It wasn't anywhere near that figure when I was on Candesartan 16 and Felodipine 5mgs ER for some time. It was only when I was on the Kyolic caps for 3 wks, that my BP dropped. I doubt if it was coincidence now.
Are you on any bp meds now or just garlic?
I am still on my Candesartan 16. Seems strange that all the time I was on it, my BP increased over a year, so doc put me on Felodipine 5 and that didn't work and was going to put me on something else. So I did some research and tried the Kyolic caps just to see. Couldn't believe it when BP dropped to a better level. I take 1 cap a day.
