Started Ramipril 5 weeks ago but 3 weeks ago noticed my tongue was sore like it was slightly scalded. Now it's really dry. Anyone else had this problem.? I'm looking at changing meds as can't stand this as it's awful in the night.

Ramipril... Awful sore dry tongue
Hmmmm.
Sounds horrible but is not unusual.
Do persevere as many side effects take about six weeks to settle down and your body to adapt to the medication.
I had a rasping and horrific dry cough while on Ramipril which kept me up at night and progressively got worse to the point where I couldn't function in meetings.
My doctor asked me to persevere for six weeks but by that time I 'd realised that I couldn't even make it through a short phone call without seriously struggling - especially as I'm asthmatic!
I went back to my GP and had the medication changed immediately and was put on Losartan instead which I have tolerated well.
Do what works for you.
If it's not agreeing with you go back to your GP and change it.
All the best going forward.
Sadly I have a condition called Sjogren's Syndrome so my mouth is permanently like that. I'm glad you can put a stop to your problem.
I've had quite a few side effects but not this one. There are so many possible side effects aren't there.I get burning either in my chest or abdomen, been checked out at A&E a couple of times, all OK.But I'm on amlodipine as well so which one is causing it?
