I am in denial that I have a problem. I am 61 yr old male in excellent physical condition. I do High Intensity Interval Training 2-3 time a week, weight training 3 times a week and martial arts 2 tines a week. I also walk one hour a day. My blood pressure has been on the high side most of my adult life, 130/85. I have white coat syndrome which does not help getting a Dr to not recommend BP medication. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013. This disease affects the central nervous system in many ways and it plays with blood pressure too. For the past yr I have readings as high as 155/100. But I will also have readings ofb125/80 during the same day. I am following all the guidelines to naturally control BP. I am lean, I eat a balanced diet, I drink one glass of wine 3 times a week, I have never smoked, I exercise, I don't eat a lot of sugar, I have taken all stress conditions out of my life. I am already taking medications for Parkinson's and I am very reluctant to start BP medication. Am I risking serious health conditions by not taking BP medication? What is the consensus amongst the group? Watch and wait or medication?

Why do you not get you doctor to let you have a 24 hour BP test. You get a portable BP monitor attached to your arm and that is attached to a bag of tricks. It records your BP at intervals over 24 hours as you go about your usual activities. It will not be affected by white coat syndrome.
There are many issues that can be caused by high BP including kidney damage and stroke. Strangely, it is not unknown for people who have regular workouts to have heart problems!!
