Citric acid and heart palpitations

Hi - anyone else experienced heart palpitations when eating citric acid foods? When I eat pineapple or drink lemonade my heart starts to race.

I am on blood pressure pills but they aren't controlling my blood pressure. I am trying to determine if foods with citric acid (or similar) is causing an elevated heart rate.

Anyone share similar experience? thanks

Pineapple is generally thought to assist heart health because of its potassium content.

Could be a food intolerance.

Nope - I drink fresh orange juice a fair amount, but no problems that I've noticed...

Do you take blood pressure tablets? If so, maybe you shouldn't be eating or drinking pineapple. I was told not to.

I think it's grapefruit juice we should'nt be drinking on blood pressure melds.

If your pills aren't working you will need to look at lifestyle, In particular diet, weight measurement/control and exercise?
