I’ve taken Bendroflumethiazide for a few years and my Bp is usually around 145/80 but fluctuates. Doc now has me on Ramipril and after less than a week it’s down to 126/67. But I am appallingly tired to the point I can barely function. Driving home from the office I think I actually nodded off which gave me a fright. I am thinking that my Bp wasn’t so bad that I HAD to take ramipril.
I read conflicting reports in what IS normal bp and in some my levels on bendroflumethiazide are done.
Has anyone any pointers?
Thanks

I was on Ramipril for about a year, and i felt awful, not just tired but couldn't breathe the same. I run a lot and was struggling with even a small run. My doctor changed me to bendroflumethiazide, and i noticed the difference immediately. Have a look at the side effects and if it mentions fatigue i would go back and ask to go back on your previous medication.
I couldn’t tolerate Ramipril either - gave me temple area pain and made me feel nauseous. Your blood pressure sounds fairly normal to me at 145/80. Is there perhaps something else you can try other than drugs to help with the fluctuations, for instance avoiding salt and caffeine, more exercise and weight loss (if you have weight to lose, that is!)?
