Fluctuating blood pressure

My blood pressure has been borderline to high for some while but gp reluctant to put me on medication as it fluctuates so much. However it recently spiked very high so I am now on bisiprolol. At times I can feel a bit faint where it goes too low and at others it goes up again. Also my pulse goes down pretty low. Do others have this problem? Might it plateau out once I’ve taken it for a while. The doctor has said I can play around with it until I get the right dose, but am loathe to keep changing it. Thanks for your help.

1.25mg twice a day. I know I thought it was odd.
